Shylene,
I stumbled on to your site and am really glad that I did. Not only your work....but your words inspired me. I am a mosaic artist myself, and a painter...currently teetering on the fence as to whether I would like to come out of the closet and go full time with my artistic endevours. Seeing people like yourself make a difference with your talents inspires and encourages others to want to do the same. I will be putting your website into my favorites for sure!
Thanks for sharing with the rest of us!

Hi Shylene, thank you for your kind comments on my website. I think your site is fantastic, I love how you work within the community, as I know how important it is for artists to do that. I think your mosaics are absoulutely beautiful, and this is the first time I have heard of artist's using driftwoood. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next.

I first admired Shylene’s work in an art gallery in downtown Victoria when we first moved to the area. After we were settled, we contacted Shylene again and went to view some pieces in her home. She welcomed us warmly into her home gallery and I was immediately impressed with the enthusiasm she exuded for her work. We wanted to fill our home with one-of-a-kind art that spoke to us and that were made with little environmental impact. The two mosaics we purchased incorporated scenes from our new west coast home and utilized recycled materials. The unique use of color and design is at the same time spiritual and practical. We could not be happier to have work in our home from an artist who we respect so highly.
